ToggleIntroduction
Autism is a ‘different ability’, not a disability. This is the philosophy behind a non-profit that has turned into a haven for neurodiverse children and their families in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu.
The Third Eye is a government-recognized school in Tamil Nadu, but it is not just a school-it’s a community of people committed to unveiling the inner values of children with autism, ADHD, and those who have issues relating to speech or other behavioral and developmental abnormalities.
Third Eye Center understands that each child has different needs; hence, they offer a variety of programs for targeted development. Each of the programs they offer is evidence-based and delivered by highly qualified therapists and educators.
Types of program we provides:
1.Learning and Behavior Program
This cornerstone program uses Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) therapy, which is a scientifically recognized method of understanding and effecting change in behavior. The program is specifically designed for children from 1 to 10 years of age and offers intensive one-on-one sessions in developing critical social skills, language and communication skills, and essential life skills.
2.Third Eye Transition Program
It means making your way into fully inclusive, mainstream educational settings. The Third Eye Transition Program is specifically tailored to fill the gap in this area
We also want to teach people about autism and other similar conditions. We support studies and give important help that really changes lives.
3.Our Special Programs
Every child is special and has different needs. So, Third Eye Center has many programs made to help each child grow in specific ways. All our programs use proven methods and are taught by skilled therapists and teachers.
4.Learning and Behavior Program
Our main program uses something called ABA therapy. This is a proven way to understand and help with how kids act. It’s for children aged 1 to 10. Kids get strong, one-on-one help to learn important social skills, how to talk and share, and key life skills. We make sure learning is fun and positive in a safe place for kids.
5.Parent Training Program
We truly believe that working with parents is key for a child to do well for a long time. Our Parent Training Program asks families to join in and help with the therapy. Four times a year, parents come to see their child’s progress. They also get special training on how to help their child at home. This teamwork makes sure that what kids learn here, they keep using at home and everywhere else.
6.Third Eye Transition Program
Sometimes children need to go into regular schools. Our Third Eye Transition Program helps them get ready for this change. It teaches skills needed for group settings, like following rules, doing work alone, and acting right in class. Each child gets help from a therapist just for them. This therapist only steps in if really needed, helping the child become independent and feel sure of themselves when they move to a new school.
7.Third Eye Social Skills Program
Getting along with others can be very hard for children with different brains. This program uses many ways to help kids understand and get better at social skills. We work on things like starting talks, looking people in the eye, understanding what people mean by their actions, taking turns, and sharing thoughts politely. What we teach depends on the child’s age and what they can already do.
8.Third Eye Functional School
Our biggest aim is for children to be independent. The Functional School program teaches kids useful skills they need to live on their own as much as possible. While still using our main ideas about behavior, this program focuses on real-life skills.
Our Full and Varied Lessons
We work on things like thinking skills, playing, moving their bodies, and reducing difficult behaviors. We do this in many ways, using all the senses. Games that help with thinking and solving problems
Conclusion
Playing outside is also a very important part. We think nature is a great place to learn. Our outdoor classroom, garden beds, sand play area, and playground give children great chances to grow physically, socially, and emotionally.
